Bong County-The Bong County Chapter of the Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) has donated assorted relief items to the Rainbow Town Orphanage Home in Gbarnga in observance of World Humanitarian Day 2026.
The items, presented on Wednesday, August 19, included 10 mosquito nets, two 25-kg bags of rice, one gallon of vegetable oil, a pack of Vita, and other basic supplies intended to support the children at the orphanage.
Presenting the items Daniel Dorbor II , Field Officer of the LNRCS Bong County Chapter, said the gesture formed part of the chapter activities to commemorate World Humanitarian Day and identify with vulnerable people in the community.
He explained that the chapter chose to spend part of the day with the orphanage as a way of showing solidarity with the children and recognizing the efforts of its management.
Dorbor commended the orphanage for its continued care of the children and encouraged closer cooperation between the institution and the Red Cross going forward.
Receiving the items, Mother Feeta Naimeh, Chief Executive Officer of Rainbow Town Orphanage Home, thanked the Bong County Charter of the Liberia National Red Cross Society for remembering the institution and returning with humanitarian assistance.
She praised the Red Cross team for extending its resources to children who are neither employees nor relatives, calling the gesture a genuine act of humanitarian service.
She recalled the organization’s previous support to the orphanage, including donations of clothing and food, and described the Red Cross as a longtime friend of the institution.
The event brought together officials and volunteers of the LNRCS Bong County Chapter along with the management and children of Rainbow Town Orphanage Home.
The Liberia National Red Cross Society is a humanitarian organization focused on assisting vulnerable people in postwar Liberia.
