Monrovia-The Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Liberia, Jozephus Coenen will run again in this year’s Liberia Marathon.
CEO Coenen has consistently led his team’s participation in the National Marathon program covering different categories of runners.
This year, AML is also one of the many sponsors of the historic race and its sponsorship is in the “platinum sponsor” category.
According to the organizers, AML alone has registered over 300 runners to race for the prize of the event.
As Liberia’s only official long-distance road race and largest athletic event, the Liberia Marathon was established in 2011.
The event has various categories to include: Full Marathon (42.2 km / 26.2 miles), Half Marathon (21.1 km / 13.1 miles), 10K Footrace, 10K Wheelchair Race and 10k Crutches Race
According to the organizers, the Sunday, November 15, 2026 Marathon will be held under the theme “Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers”.
A statement from the media and publicity department praised the media for its support of the event over the years.
