Rep. Hopeful Jutomue Gatie Leads Initiative
Bong-A two-day sporting tournament has commenced in Kollieta Wolah, Bong County Electoral District #2, bringing together four zones in football and kickball competitions aimed at promoting unity and community engagement.
The tournament is being organized by Jutomue Gatie, a Representative hopeful for Bong County Electoral District #2 in the pending 2029 General Elections, who serves as chief organizer.
Gatie described sports as a unifying force and pledged his commitment to supporting initiatives that bring residents together and promote unity across the district.
The tournament features four zones competing in football and kickball, with participating teams competing for cash prizes and individual awards.
The football champion will receive LD$20,000, while the runner-up will receive LD$10,000. In kickball, the first-place winner will receive LD$10,000, while the second-place winner will take home LD$5,000.
Individual awards include LD$1,500 for the Most Valuable Player (MVP), while the highest goal scorer, best defender, and best goalkeeper will each receive LD$1,000.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Monday, August 24, 2026, with organizers expecting continued participation from residents and supporters.
The event has attracted several local leaders, including Town Chief Joseph Paye, along with other chiefs, elders, and community members.
Gatie said he remains committed to using sports and other community-based initiatives as avenues for promoting unity and fostering development in Bong County Electoral District #2.
