TuGon Educational Foundation has intensified efforts aimed at empowering Liberians through education, professional skills development, and vocational training opportunities for women and young people across Montserrado County and beyond.
A release says the Foundation’s latest initiatives are designed to help reduce unemployment, promote self-reliance, and support the Government of Liberia’s development agenda.
According to the Executive Director of TuGon Educational Foundation, Haggai Gondah it continues to make significant strides in the education and empowerment sector through the establishment of the TuGon School of Professional Journalism and the launch of a major vocational training initiative targeting over two thousand women and youths.
Gondah said TuGon School of Professional Journalism was established to provide aspiring journalists and media practitioners with professional training in journalism, media ethics, news writing, broadcasting, and other essential communication skills needed in today’s media landscape.
According to him, in addition to journalism training, the Foundation has announced the launch of a one-year vocational training program expected to begin in August 2026 and climax in October 2027.
“The program aims to train more than 2,000 women and youths in several vocational disciplines, including Beauty Care, Soap Science, Resin Arts, DSTV Installation, and other practical skills intended to help participants create sustainable livelihoods”Gondah said in a press release.
He said the initiative is specifically designed to make skills training affordable and accessible to disadvantaged and less privileged Liberians.
“Our goal is to ensure that women and young people who may not have the opportunity to attend expensive institutions can still acquire valuable skills that will help them become productive and economically independent citizens. We believe that affordable vocational education is one of the most effective tools for transforming lives and communities” he added.
Gondah noted that the Foundation remains committed to providing quality training opportunities while creating pathways for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
He described the upcoming vocational training program as the beginning of a long-term national empowerment agenda.
He went on saying, “This one-year program is only the beginning. TuGon Educational Foundation has a continuous vision of training Liberians and helping them become self-reliant. We want to create opportunities that will empower individuals to support themselves, their families, and their communities.”
The Executive Director also emphasized that the Foundation’s activities complement the efforts of the Liberian Government in addressing youth unemployment and promoting human capacity development.
“We see this initiative as our contribution to national development. By equipping Liberians with practical skills and professional education, we are supporting the Government’s efforts to empower citizens and build a stronger and more prosperous nation” he continued.
Meanwhile, TuGon Educational Foundation has launched an appeal to well-meaning Liberians, government officials, development partners, private institutions, businesses, and international organizations to support the ambitious empowerment program.

The Foundation says partnerships and sponsorships will help increase access to training opportunities and ensure that more vulnerable women and youths can benefit from the initiative.
“We are calling on individuals, organizations, and institutions that believe in empowerment and human development to join us in this effort. Together, we can help train over 2,000 women and youths and create lasting opportunities for thousands of Liberians.”
As preparations continue for the August 2026 launch, TuGon Educational Foundation says it remains focused on its mission of providing professional education, vocational training, and empowerment opportunities that will positively impact communities across Liberia.
