-Poised To Sign Joint Communiqué at Tomorrow’s Roundtable

Monrovia-A Second Roundtable of Opposition Political Leaders will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Sinkor Palace in Sinkor, Monrovia, hosted by Hon. Simeon C. M. Freeman, Political Leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC).

The Sunday Roundtable follows two previous engagements. The first, held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, was a broader Opposition Roundtable involving Key Individual Stakeholders in the opposition community. The second, held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, was a Roundtable of Political Leaders of Opposition Political Parties. These meetings provided opportunities to exchange views on the national situation, identify areas of common interest, and explore practical avenues for cooperation.

The Sunday meeting will bring together former President H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, Sr., Political Leader of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and Former President of the Republic of Liberia; Hon. Alexander Benedict Cummings, Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC); H.E. Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Political Leader and Standard Bearer of the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE); Hon. Simeon C. M. Freeman, Political Leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC); and Hon. Jonathan A. Mason, Political Leader of the Union of Liberian Democrats Party (ULDP).

The upcoming Second Roundtable for tomorrow,  Sunday,  September 27, 2026 looks to strengthen the technical foundation of the evolving cooperation, including the practical arrangements, structures, and mechanisms necessary to sustain and advance the cooperation emerging from the ongoing consultations.

A release issued in September 26,2026 by Opposition Political Parties Joint Technical Committee says the Opposition Political Leaders remain firmly committed to sustaining the foundation of opposition unity, not merely as a means towards an electoral alliance, but principally as an opportunity to rethink how Liberia’s national problems can be assessed and addressed through collective ideas, constructive engagement, and practical solutions in the interest of the Liberian people.

The September 27th Roundtable will conclude with the live signing of a Joint Communiqué by the respective Political Leaders of Opposition Political Parties. The communiqué will reflect the understandings reached and provide a basis for continued consultation and cooperation among the participating Opposition Political Parties.
