Nimba County district five lawmaker has cautioned the Joseph Boakai-Jeremiah Kung government to “Put your house in order” if they wish to continue their legacy.
In a Facebook chat on Live TV Liberia September 7, 2026, Representative Kortor Kwagrue called on the UP authorities to start doing the needful by going back to grassroot politicians.
“I remember 2023 you were begging them to come together, go to them now before it gets too late” he said.
Kwagrue is a member of Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction ( MDR). He was elected in a by-election when the vacancy was created by the election of Senator Samuel G. Korga. The lawmaker has a very close proximity with current vice President, Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
In his Facebook chat, he further cautioned his boss’ government in these terms, “Those auxiliaries that were working for you, call them on the table now. A hungry man is an angry man. No political reward is in Heaven.”
He added,“You sit there with your mean self and expect to win an election 2029, who told you it works like that?”
He likened UP to CDC making a comparison saying one reason that most citizens will even want to die for former President George Weah is because he is freehand unlike Unity ministers or officials who he said are, “Dam mean” stressing that people who live nearby do even get a taste of them being ministers in government.
The Nimba Buu Yao lawmaker additionally said that the Unity is repeating mistakes made by George Weah’s administration although he didn’t say what the mistakes were but was quick to state that former ruling Congress for Democratic Change is realizing mistakes they made and they are trying to correct them.
“The same mistakes that led them out, you are trying to do the same mistakes” he said.
He called on the UP to write the wrongs now before it is too late because he doesn’t want to be an opposition lawmaker should the CDC come back to power after the 2029 elections.
