Says His Statement wasn’t Intended Mislead, Malign, or Undermine Speaker Koon

Monrovia– Deputy Speaker, Thomas Fallah has eaten his words against House Speaker Richard N. Koon stating that his statement wasn’t intended to mislead, malign, or undermine his friend, Koon.
Fallah made an appearance on Spoon Fm at which time he said among other things that Koon’s first leadership position was being speaker.
The statement has been making rounds on social media as many people have described it as being disrespectful to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
This caused a member of the House of Representatives, Jacob Debee, Grand Gedeh of County District #3 requesting a “retraction and investigation of the public statement attributed to him, Fallah during that appearance on SpoonTalk on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
The communication appeared on today, June 30,2026 agenda of that body.
Deputy Speaker Fallah in a statement on his social media page said, “I wish to state clearly that my comments on SpoonTalk regarding my friend, Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, were made in good faith and without any intent to mislead, malign, or undermine.”
In that social media post, he used an image of himself and the Speaker to show that he still believes in the Speaker contrary to the public sentiment.
He ate his words by saying, “I hereby retract it and offer my sincere apology.”
The Deputy Speaker said he and Koon share a longstanding personal relationship that predates their current roles in the House.
“I value that relationship deeply and have no intention of doing anything to jeopardize the mutual respect and camaraderie between us” Fallah said.
