DALIAN– Chinese Premier Li Qiang has emphasized innovation, economic resilience, and international cooperation in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 17th Summer Davos Forum.

Addressing global leaders, entrepreneurs, and international organizations, Li said China’s economy has made a strong start to its 15th Five-Year Plan despite global uncertainties.

He described the country’s economic performance with four key themes: stability, newness, vitality, and integration.

The Chinese Premier highlighted China’s 5% first-quarter growth, rapid advances in artificial intelligence, quantum technology, commercial space, and clean energy industries.

According to him, innovation has become the driving force behind China’s long-term development, supported by rising research investment, industrial application of new technologies, and a strong innovation ecosystem.

Rejecting concerns about a so-called “China Shock 2.0,” Li argued that China is creating a “China Opportunity 2.0” by providing both market and innovation dividends to the world.

Li furthered that growing foreign investment in research and technology sectors and called for greater global collaboration in science and technology.

The Chinese Premier urged countries and businesses to deepen innovation partnerships, improve governance of emerging technologies such as AI, and work together to maintain open global supply chains. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to wider opening-up and welcomed international companies to invest and grow in the Chinese market.
