-Denies Reports of Its MD Arrest for Production or Illicit Substances
The Management of Global Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing and Laboratories Limited has denied allegations linking the company to the manufacturing, processing, or production of any illicit narcotics substances or cocaine in Liberia and said it was a trap or a framed allegation
In a statement released in Monrovia over the weekend, the company also termed as false and misleading reports that its Managing Director, BR Fiaz, has been arrested and or jailed.
Mr. BR is a free man bearing his Liberty who is currently residing in Monrovia along with his family, void of being jailed or incarceration as being perceived in the public.
Global pharmaceutical manufacturing company recognizes that security and regulatory authorities may, within their lawful mandates, conduct inquiries or inspections at both public and private institutions at all times. Global Pharmaceuticals and its owners are always open to any sort of Regulatory, Security, Labour, Immigration and Security Enforcement Audits and have a mandate to be in compliance with all the related authorities and government agencies.
Global Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing company says it is a legitimate manufacturing institution operating in Liberia and remains committed to conducting its activities in accordance with Liberian laws, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards and well as International Standard governing the pharmaceutical sector.
“I have not been Jailed by any member of the joint security of Liberia. I am going about my normal business as a legitimate resident in Liberia. Furthermore, our company will continue to fully operate in keeping with all laws of Liberia, We have been doing great and We shall prosper to do more for the Liberia in relation to medical sector in particular, it’s not about production of OTC medicines only but a journey of sovereignty a journey of Import substitution and a journey of Transfer of Knowledge. We are regulated by LMHRA and MOH as well as regulated by International Standard Organisations that put us in a very sensitive position. We are glad that because of our Investment; Liberia is counted as a manufacturing and self-sustaining country when it comes to local manufacturing of Essential medications, our Investment have increased the reputation of Liberia not in the Mano-river region but also in WAHO (West African Health Organisation). We will not stop and continue to do more, our fight is not ONLY against cocaine but also against unregulated imported medicines and substandard medication, as we are open to be regulated at any time and any hour, locally and internationally.” a statement issued quotes Mr. BR.
The company’s legitimate operations in the country was recently verified by a recent unannounced visit by authorities of the Liberia Medical and Health Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) at its premises On Friday, August 7 this year, the Managing Director of the LMHRA Luke L. Bawo, accompanied by Deputy Managing Director Dr. Patricia Quaye-Freeman, led several other senior staff of the authority to inspect the facility of Global Pharmaceuticals company.
The LMHRA’s leadership used the unannounced visit to obtain a direct assessment of the company’s operational realities, including its manufacturing facilities, equipment, production processes, workforce, and quality management systems.
The exercise was part of a broader regulatory and public-health regulation where Global Pharmaceuticals came up to be in full compliance and found in no involvement of illegal or unauthorised production of any kind
During the unannounced visit by Regulatory Authority on 7th,there was no illegal operations, producing or processing of any illicit drugs or substances observed at the company by the sole government authority responsible to regulate the pharmaceuticals sector of Liberia. Meanwhile, Global Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company Limited is cautioning media institutions against publishing unverified or unsubstantiated reports.
The company urges media practitioners to exercise a high level of responsibility, counter check or verify reports with the relevant authorities, ministries, agencies or the accused before publication.
Global Pharmaceuticals says it remains committed to transparency, lawful cooperation with the Government of Liberia and all duly authorized regulatory and security institutions, and the provision of quality pharmaceutical products and laboratory services.
The management of the company maintains that it would not hesitate to cooperate with any national or International security bodies , or provide it’s medical and technical expertise to combat against any form of drug trafficking in Liberia and elsewhere across the globe.
