‎‎Monrovia, Liberia— The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), through the Ministry of National Defense, has issued a final warning to all illegal occupants of Camp Ramrod Military Barracks, commonly known as the 72nd Barracks, to vacate the premises within fourteen days.‎‎

According to the ministry, the voluntary evacuation period takes effect from January 19, 2026, and applies to all civilians unlawfully occupying the military facility.

Authorities urged occupants to leave peacefully within the stipulated timeframe.

‎‎The ministry disclosed that the AFL Engineering Battalion will begin erecting barricades around the area to clearly demarcate the boundaries of the military installation.‎‎

Officials assured affected occupants that no personal belongings will be confiscated and that no punitive action will be taken against individuals who comply with the eviction order within the given period.‎‎

The Ministry of National Defense explained that the continued illegal occupation of the barracks, dating back to the civil war era, has significantly hindered efforts to renovate the facility and house newly recruited AFL personnel.

Camp Ramrod was described as a strategic military installation vital to national security and not intended for civilian habitation.‎‎

The ministry emphasized that reclaiming the barracks is essential to strengthening the operational readiness of the Armed Forces of Liberia.
