Monrovia —Lawyers representing former First Lady Clar Weah have filed a petition before the court seeking to revoke or cancel a writ of subpoena issued against her and the Clar Hope Foundation.
The subpoena orders the foundation to appear in court and produce comprehensive financial records, including documentation of donations and other funds allegedly used in the construction of a privately owned complex in Marshall, Margibi County.
Madam Weah is currently the subject of a criminal investigation related to the acquisition and development of the multimillion-dollar property, which authorities allege was undertaken while her husband, former President George Manneh Weah, was in office.
According to the petition, her legal team argues that the subpoena is improper and should be quashed, though specific grounds for the request were not immediately disclosed.

The Clar Hope Foundation, which is associated with charitable and humanitarian activities, has been named in the court order due to its alleged financial role in the development of the Marshall complex.
Court proceedings are expected to determine whether the subpoena will remain in effect as investigators continue to probe the source of funds used for the project.
