Abuja -H.E. Mrs Damtien TCHINTCHIBIDJA, Vice-President of the ECOWAS Commission, held a preparatory coordination meeting in Abuja on Thursday, 29 January 2026, to advance preparations for the Regional Summit on Integration and Investment, tentatively scheduled for April 2026.
Convened to align institutional roles, timelines and modalities, the meeting forms part of efforts to reposition ECOWAS’ economic integration agenda through enhanced regional collaboration and investment.
Proposed by H.E. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Chairman of the Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government, the Summit will bring together governments, business leaders, investors and development partners to discuss the region’s growth and sustainable development.
It will also strengthen regional integration through energy trade, strategic minerals, agribusiness and digital transformation, in line with ECOWAS’ founding vision of economic cooperation and shared prosperity.
