‎The Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA), commonly known as the National Archives, has officially broken ground for the construction of a new employees’ cafeteria at its 12th Street compound. ‎‎

The initiative is being spearheaded by the Employees Movement for Transparency, Advocacy and Development (CEMTAD), a political group participating in the agency’s upcoming workers’ elections scheduled for December.‎‎

The cafeteria project is a story building that will host other offices for employees and the Agency in general.‎‎According to organizers, the project carries the theme “Let Us Build Together Our Own” and is estimated to cost approximately $17,000 USD.‎‎

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ebenezer Borbor, chairperson of the organizing committee and a presidential candidate in the workers’ elections said the cafeteria project was prompted by ongoing challenges employees face in accessing breakfast and lunch during the workday.

‎‎He emphasized that the establishment of a modern cafeteria would significantly improve staff welfare.‎‎

Mr. Borbor called on employees to support the initiative and take full ownership of the project as it progressed.‎
