‎‎— LATI 3rd Graduation Orator Cautions Graduates‎‎

The third graduation orator at the Liberia Aviation Training Institute and Manager of Roberts International Airport James K. Mulbah has cautioned young graduates of the institution to be more robust in entrepreneurs than going after a job.‎‎

Mr. Mulbah said Liberia does not just need aviation workers but rather needs aviation builders adding that entrepreneurs see favorable chances for opportunity.‎‎

Delivering his keynote address to the Class of 2024-2025 with over 30 graduates over the weekend , the RIA boss lamented that customer service, gaps in logistics and technology are essentially business ideas waiting for someone with the right training to act on them.‎‎

Mr. Mulbah told the class that Liberia’s aviation sector does not need more workers but entrepreneurs who are willing to identify gaps, take risks and build enterprises where none currently exist.‎‎

“Don’t just aim to work in aviation, aim to transform it. Liberia does not just need aviation workers; Liberia needs aviation builders. Successful entrepreneurs often begin with limited resources but maximize knowledge, energy, and timing. Your skills are more powerful than you think. Where others see limitations, entrepreneurs see opportunity.” He noted.‎‎

He encouraged graduates to use their coursework in customer service, weight and balance, and airport operations as the foundation as travel support services, cargo coordination firms and aviation consulting businesses are key to venturing greater opportunity.‎‎

James Mulbah further that beyond traditional airline models lies global trends, drone delivery services, and customer-focused aviation as evidence that the industry’s growth edges.‎‎

Mulbah also commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for initiating reforms at the Liberia Airport Authority, terming it as institutional groundwork for the kind of structured, sustainable aviation sector that private enterprise can grow alongside.‎‎

Also speaking, the valedictorian Oretha K. Fallah described the moment as joy, pride and gratitude, using her speech to tackle the gap between classroom training and industry access. ‎‎

Valedictorian Fallah wants internship and employment opportunities to expand for young aviation professionals thus calling on the Roberts International Airport, the Liberia Airport Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority to go beyond just delivering good speeches to extend social corporate responsibility to the aviation student community, to enable young aviators to exercise and showcase what they have learned.‎‎

Boosting the institution’s aviation program, Julius Dennis, Director General of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority vowed a continued institutional support, thus announcing an annual contribution of US$1,000 to the institute each year for the top two performing students (graduates), to keeping LATI connected to the industry it serves.
