–Youth and Sports Cadet’s Speaker Urges Graduates

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has graduated another batch of young people through its National Cadet Program.
The three-month training is being funded by the UNDP, the government of Liberia by the Ministry of Youth and Sports aimed at enchanting the working experience and skills of targeted youth at the same time serving as a pipeline for employment or hire.
It brought together key government stakeholders, partners and the media, students from across Liberia to undergo intensive capacity-building sessions at different ministries and agencies over the weekend.
Giving the overview of the program, Mr. Alex T.J. Kamanda, the Assistant Coordinator for the National Cadets Program at the Ministry of Youth and Sports said the closing program marks the conclusion of this batch of the 2025 national cadet program.
Mr. Kamanda noted that there were 150 cadets recruited intended to benefit at least one hundred fifty graduating seniors and recent college graduates as well as vocational institutions through the program.

According to him, the graduating cadets got in deployment on August 11, 2025 and ended on November 14, 2025 with ninety-eight being females constituting 54.66% while thirty-four are males which constitute 45.33%.
Delivering the keynote address, Madam Garmai Koboi, Director General of the Liberia Intellectual Property Office, urged the graduates to remain focused and use their creativity to create job opportunities rather than relying solely on government employment.
According to her, innovation and self-initiative can make a significant impact on national development and security.
Also speaking, Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for providing the opportunity that enabled young people to acquire new skills and knowledge through the program.
Minister Cole Bangalu cautioned the graduates to be resilient and tolerant in their discharge of their professional duties.
