‎‎The Sister Cities International, a non-profit organisation, in partnership with Cast Liberia Inc., has launched an anti-drug campaign aimed at promoting a drug-free lifestyle among students in Lower Bong County. ‎‎

The initiative is under the theme: “To Prevent Illicit Drugs in Lower Bong County,” took place Wednesday in Gbarnga City.‎‎

According to Mr James J. Kpleh and Jassie King, organisers of the campaign, the initiative seeks to strengthen drug demand reduction efforts in schools, empowering youth to make healthy choices. ‎‎

The campaign is targeting students in various schools in Lower Bong County, to educate them about the dangers of illicit drugs and the benefits of a drug-free lifestyle.‎‎

They emphasised the importance of addressing the issue of drug abuse among young people in the county.

They noted that the campaign is a critical step towards creating a safe and healthy environment for students to learn and grow.‎‎

As a non-profit organisation, Sister Cities International is committed to using its resources to make a positive impact in communities around the world.

The partnership with Cast Liberia Inc. is part of its efforts to support community development initiatives in Liberia.‎‎

The launch of the campaign was attended by, school administrators, teachers, students, and community members.

Participants welcomed the initiative, expressing their commitment to supporting efforts to prevent drug abuse among young people in Lower Bong County.‎‎

Students who attended the campaign, including Peter Davis and Annie Flomo, described the awareness campaign as “eye-opening”.

Peter Davis, a student at a local school, said, “I had no idea about the dangers of drugs until I attended this campaign. I’m grateful for the information and I will make sure to share it with my friends.”‎‎Annie Flomo, also a student, echoed Peter’s sentiments, saying, “I was not aware of the risks associated with drug use, but now I know. This campaign has empowered me to make informed choices about my health and well-being.”‎‎

The campaign is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of students in Lower Bong County, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices about their health and well-being.

By promoting a drug-free lifestyle, Sister Cities International and Cast Liberia Inc. aim to contribute to the development of a healthy and productive society.
