-Bong Representative Hopeful Encourages Kindergarten Graduates
Gbarnga-Bong County Electoral District #2 Representative hopeful Jutomue Gatie has encouraged kindergarten graduates of Hannah Clark Junior High School in Gbarnga to believe in themselves, dream big, and remain committed to their education as they celebrated a major milestone in their academic journey.
Serving as the guest speaker at the school’s 3rd kindergarten graduation ceremony, Gatie did not see the event as just another graduation, but an achievement that should be celebrated by parents as it is the foundation to the future they hope for.
He spoke on the theme, “From Small Steps to Big Dreams”.
Addressing the graduates of 11 students, Gatie said “My dear graduates, every great journey begins with a single step. Before you learned to read, you first learned your ABCs. Before you learned to write, you first learned numbers. Today, you have completed the first stage of your educational journey, and all of us are proud of you.”
He thanked the school administration, teachers, and parents for the support they have provided the students over the academic year and called on them not to get tired of helping them.
Gatie encouraged the children never to underestimate their potential, noting that many successful professionals once sat in classrooms similar to theirs.
“Every teacher, every nurse, every engineer, every lawyer, every journalist, every president, and every successful businessperson once started in a classroom like this. No one was born great,” he said.
He urged the graduates to aspire to become doctors, teachers, engineers, journalists, and national leaders, stressing that success comes through discipline, determination, and hard work.
As part of his support for education, Gatie donated LD$10,000 to Hannah Clark Junior High School during the ceremony and pledged an additional LD$20,000 to be presented next week.
He also awarded a one-year scholarship to the graduating class valedictorian (dux), reaffirming his commitment to promoting academic excellence and supporting deserving students.
The joyful kids thanked their teachers and parents for not giving up on them as they took their first steps.
