Luanda, Angola – Liberiaโs Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow-Nyanti has highlighted Liberiaโs priorities as a member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2026โ2027 tenure.
โโIn her recent address at the AU-EU Summit in Luanda, Angola, Minister Beysolow-Nyanti congratulated Angola on its 50th anniversary, lauding them for the recent honor of President William R. Tolbert for his role played in Angolaโs independence journey. โโ
Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti underscored that Africaโs burden of managing migration between African countries is often overlooked, making migration to appear as a burden carried only by western countries. โโ
She noted that resources to address this issue should be holistic, equitable, and inclusive and focus on job creation for youth in Africa adding that the expansion of the European Investment Bank in Africa and the Global Gateway as a critical framework for cooperation, economic growth, and resource mobilization.โโ
Addressing global security, the Minister reaffirmed Liberiaโs commitment to counter-terrorism efforts, security council reform, and peacekeeping reform, while stressing the importance of strengthening regional blocs, including those in West Africa, to effectively address security challenges.โโ
Minister Beysolow-Nyanti on climate, natural resources and conflict, she said that competition over resources has been a driver of instability in Africa thus calling for coordinated strategies to manage natural resources sustainably and prevent conflict.
