Deputy Minister for Research, Policy, and Planning at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Curtis V. Dorley has officially launched the Curtis V. Dorley Scholarship Program at Bong County University, aimed at supporting students and strengthening educational opportunities in that part of Liberia.

The scholarship program, launched under the theme “Investing in Minds, Building Liberia’s Future,” is currently benefiting 112 students, including elementary school pupils and university students.

Speaking during the launching ceremony held on the campus of Bong County University in Gbarnga, Bong County, Dorley said the initiative was established to help deserving students pursue their education regardless of financial challenges.

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for national development and youth empowerment that’s why the deputy Minister said investing in the education sector is key to building a stronger and more productive Liberia.

The deputy Gender  boss furthered  that the scholarship program is named in honor and memory of his late father, whom he described as a passionate supporter of education and community development. He said the initiative serves as a way of continuing his father’s legacy by giving hope and opportunity to young people.

During the launch ceremony, called on government institutions, private organizations, and well-meaning Liberians to continue supporting educational initiatives that empower young people and contribute to national growth.

Dorley further encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and use the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves and the country.

Students and attendees at the program expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will help ease the financial burden on many families while promoting access to quality education.
