Paynesville— Security in the Garza Community is set to reach a new height following a firm commitment by newly elected Chairman John Kollie Sumo to establish a coordinated vigilante and community watch system across all five blocks of the community.‎‎

Garza Community, located in District #4 of Montserrado County, Paynesville, comprises five blocks, each overseen by block leaders.

In November 2025, residents went to the polls to elect a chairman who will lead the community for the next three years.‎‎

During his inaugural address delivered at the Alive in Christ Evangelistic Ministry, Chairman Sumo outlined his vision for a safer, more united Garza, declaring security his top priority within his first 100 days in office.‎‎

He pledged to work closely with local security groups, community watch teams, vigilante groups, and relevant authorities to prevent crime and promote peace, understanding, and forgiveness throughout the community.‎‎

Chairman Sumo strongly emphasized unity, warning against divisions based on personal loyalties or political alignments.‎‎

“There will be no ‘Sumo group’ or ‘Peter Ward group’—only Garza. One community, one family,” he said.‎‎

According to the chairman, peace and security are the foundation of development.

He noted that without safety, schools cannot function effectively, markets cannot thrive, and homes cannot remain stable.

His administration, he said, will focus on creating a calm and secure environment where residents can live and work without fear.

‎‎In a major show of goodwill, Chairman Sumo also announced the provision of 100 educational scholarships to deserving residents across all five blocks of the community.

The initiative, he explained, reflects his strong belief in education as a tool for empowerment and long-term development.‎‎

The chairman expressed heartfelt appreciation to citizens, supporters, family members, friends, and even opposition figures for their contributions and cooperation throughout the electoral process.

He described his victory as a collective achievement rather than a personal one.‎‎

Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive leadership, Chairman Sumo thanked all supporters regardless of political affiliation and promised to honor the trust placed in him by working tirelessly to fulfill his campaign promises.‎‎

With a message of love, unity, and determination, Chairman John K. Sumo concluded by assuring residents that his leadership will steer Garza Community toward a safer, brighter, and more prosperous future for all.
