Cestos -Rivercess County is set to inaugurate its largest medical depot which is expected to mark a significant change in the county’s healthcare delivery system.‎

The disclosure was made recently during an exclusive interview with The Local Daily in Cestos City.‎

According to the County Pharmacist, Marvin J. Gbartomah, the construction of the facility has been completed and is now awaiting final preparations for the storage of medical supplies.‎

“The building is fully completed. What we are currently waiting for are the shelves for the medicines,” Pharmacist Gbartomah stated.‎

He explained that the County Health Team identified the urgent need for a larger medical depot due to the limited capacity of the previous facility, which could no longer adequately store medical supplies.‎

Initially, the team began roofing the structure, but technical challenges later required the roof to be removed.‎

However, the County’s pharmacist said support from Plan-Liberia through a Global Grant enabled the project to move forward.‎

Gbartomah furthered that during a visit to Rivercess County, the Minister of Health commended the County Health Team for their efforts and assured them that the Ministry would take over and complete the remaining aspects of the project.

‎A visit to the newly constructed facility revealed various medical supplies, including essential medicines, maternal and child health items, and other healthcare products, currently stored in the spacious hall.‎

Pointing his fingers towards another building in the distance, Pharmacist Gbartomah said they have other supplies in other places but are waiting for the shelving to place all their supplies in one place.

‎He expressed hope that once the depot is officially commissioned and handed over, his responsibilities as County Pharmacist will be significantly enhanced, allowing him to operate more effectively and at a higher level of service delivery.‎
