‎— As Bishop Donyen Reaffirms Committee

‎‎Monrovia -On February 15–17, 2026, Bishop Donyen, head of the Independent Catholic Church of Liberia, in partnership with Compassion For Life (USA), conducted a three-day monitoring visit of key humanitarian initiatives in Montserrado County Electoral District #2.‎‎

The tour was intended to cross-check various projects implemented by the Compassion For Life through former aspirant Bishop Donyen.‎‎

Witnessed by several residents within Lower Johnsonville, brought together church leaders, educators, security personnel, marketers, youth representatives, and community residents to assess ongoing projects and identify priority needs.‎‎

During the visit to various sites, residents expressed gratitude for the farsightedness describing it as a life changing encounter for the residents.‎‎

The residents however called for a renewed hope for sustained community development terming the Catholic Bishop as a true disciple sent to rescue his people.‎‎

During the visit, the delegation toured major infrastructure developments, including the New Life Community Road and a significant wooden bridge connecting the New Life and Kpanwen communities. ‎‎

Residents described the bridge as a critical link that has improved transportation, enhanced access to markets and schools, and strengthened local trade.‎‎

Community members noted that the bridge has eased movement, particularly during challenging weather conditions, and has positively impacted economic activities within the area.‎‎

Speaking at one of the monitoring sites, Bishop Donyen  reaffirmed his commitment in driving and enabling the people of District #2 have needy developments.‎‎

Donyen noted that as long as the Compassion For Life USA continues its partnership, community-driven development will be the peak and will ensure that humanitarian interventions produce lasting impact. ‎‎

Meanwhile, the residents have lauded various initiatives and acknowledged the role of the Catholic Bishop in strengthening the livelihoods of the district.‎‎

The engagement concluded with a strategic meeting involving community leaders and stakeholders, who pledged to protect completed projects and ensure their long-term sustainability through community ownership and accountability.
