โ€ŽIn a move aimed at strengthening accountability and workplace transparency, the Senate has introduced a biometric sign-in and sign-out system for its staffers. โ€Žโ€Ž

This new system, as revealed by President Pro-Tempore Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence alongside Senator J. Gbleh-bo Brown, chair on Rules Order and Administration, is part of the ongoing reforms within the Senate under Senator Karnga-Lawrenceโ€™s leadership.

โ€Žโ€ŽThe system was launched on Thursday, November 27, 2025, as part of the broader efforts to modernize the Senateโ€™s operations.

Accordingly, the biometric system will enable staffers to register their attendance using facial recognition or fingerprint technology, replacing traditional manual methods.โ€Žโ€Ž

According to Senate leaders, introducing this biometric solution will help accurately track staff attendance during official working hours.

The system is expected to reduce time theft, discourage absenteeism, and enhance the Senate’s overall efficiency.

More importantly, leaders stress that this digital approach will promote greater transparency and build public confidence in the Senateโ€™s day-to-day management.โ€Žโ€Ž

The Senate staffers will log in and out of work electronically, providing real-time data to supervisors and automating the verification of attendance records.

The reform is anticipated to be a key step in setting higher standards of professional conduct within the legislative body.
